Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing finance team. This individual will oversee key accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, financial reporting, audit preparation, and internal controls while supervising accounting support staff.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, mentoring employees, and ensuring financial accuracy across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations
  • Manage daily cash activity and reconciliations
  • Coordinate weekly vendor payments
  • Resolve customer and vendor account discrepancies
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support annual external audits
  • Maintain strong internal controls
  • Oversee payroll processing and payroll compliance
  • Review payroll reports, deductions, benefits, and tax information
  • Coordinate payroll-related matters with Human Resources
  • Supervise Payroll and Accounts Payable team members
  • Develop and improve accounting procedures and SOPs
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Non-profit or government accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with ADP Payroll
  • Experience using Sage accounting software
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
