JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in RockForce's general ledger and monthend close processes. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses, while supporting reporting accuracy across multiple entities.

This is a handson role requiring strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work crossfunctionally with AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations teams. The role is based in Nashville, TN and requires a majority inoffice presence.

 

Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas

 

General Ledger & Month-End Close

 

  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and adjustments
  • Perform monthend and yearend close activities in accordance with deadlines
  • Ensure expenses and revenues are recorded in the correct accounting period

 

Account Reconciliations

 

  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all reconciled accounts

 

Financial Reporting & Analysis

 

  • Support preparation of internal financial statements and management reports
  • Analyze variances and trends to support leadership decisionmaking
  • Assist with cash flow analysis and forecasting support

 

Intercompany & MultiEntity Accounting

 

  • Assist with intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliations
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple legal entities
  • Support consolidation and elimination processes as needed

 

CrossFunctional Support

  • Partner with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate posting and reconciliation
  • Coordinate with Payroll on payroll entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Support Operations with financial questions related to projects and events

 

Controls, Audit & Process Improvement

 

  • Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies and controls
  • Support audits, reviews, and adhoc accounting requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation

 

Qualifications

Core Competencies

 

  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and monthend close
  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in a projectbased, services, staffing, or payroll environment
  • Experience working in a multientity accounting structure
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and Excelbased reporting

 

Work Environment

 

  • Primarily inoffice role based in Whites Creek, TN
  • Close collaboration with Accounting, AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations teams
  • Occasional extended hours during monthend close or peak reporting periods

 

Location: 3 days in-office (Whites Creek, TN)
