Senior Accountant

We are searching for a Senior Accountant. This position is onsite in Las Vegas, contract-to-hire, and pays $30 to $35 per hour. This role is expected to increase in responsibility over time.

Responsibilities

• Provide significant support for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical review.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including work-in-progress (WIP), inventory, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
• Perform job cost accounting activities, including cost tracking, variance analysis, and support of project profitability reporting.
• Prepare and review revenue recognition and cost allocation entries in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online to record transactions, maintain the general ledger, and support accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and basic cash flow reporting.
• Partner with operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost classification and timely financial data.
• Support internal controls by documenting procedures, identifying improvement opportunities, and assisting with process enhancements.
• Assist with audit support activities, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor requests.
• Participate in systems, reporting, and process improvements as the accounting function scales and evolves.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–5+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and GAAP fundamentals.
• Experience providing meaningful support for month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Hands-on experience working within QuickBooks Online is required.
• Familiarity with job cost accounting, inventory, and fixed asset accounting concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to work effectively with accounting systems and reports.
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a growing, fast-paced environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
