The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the General Ledger team of William Hill Nevada in preparing accounting records and administering financial processes. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Working on a hybrid-remote schedule.
Gaining knowledge of sports betting systems and underlying calculations.
Creating and reviewing detailed, complex spreadsheets.
Adhering to GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls.
Preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries.
Training and coaching staff accountants.
Aiding staff accountants with problem solving and researching discrepancies.
Assisting Accounting Managers with Lease and Contract Accounting.
Preparing monthly, quarterly and bi-annual/annual revenue and profit shares.
Overseeing partner billing submissions and partner receivables.
Preparing quarterly, bi-annual and annual business licenses.
Communicating monthly results and maintaining relationships with sportsbook partners.
Assisting with internal and external audit requests as required.
Supporting Accounting Managers and upper-management with ad hoc requests as required.
Prepared to assist and support their team members when required and work as a cohesive unit.
Upholding departmental policies, procedures and quality standards.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
2 - 4 years of accounting experience
Degree in Accounting or related field
Able to obtain a gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board
Able to work a flexible schedule: evenings and weekends when needed
Knowledge of GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls
Proven ability to lead and assist staff accountants
Working knowledge of preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries
Diligent to detail and accuracy
STRONG Excel skills, macro knowledge a plus
Working knowledge of Oracle accounting software a plus
Able to adapt to changes
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to demonstrate initiative with excellent communication skills
Capable of meeting deadlines under pressure and time constraints
