The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Supervisor and partners with teams across all branches and levels of the organization. This is a hands-on role with meaningful exposure to global accounting operations, technical research, and process improvement. The position emphasizes accuracy in reporting, depth in account analysis, and a proactive approach to strengthening internal controls and accounting workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead month-end close activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, along with in-depth reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain and review accounting schedules covering prepaids, accrued expenses, deferrals, intangible assets, long-term debt, fixed assets, and intercompany balances; provide coding guidance to A/P staff across G/L, department, and location.
  • Reconcile cash and credit card activity against bank records, resolve bank-to-book differences, analyze variances, and calculate monthly accruals.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers including additions, disposals, and depreciation; support development of the capital expenditure requisition process and evaluation of fixed asset software solutions.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts, perform analytical review of intercompany balances, and recommend resolution strategies for identified discrepancies.
  • Prepare and present internal financial reports with variance analysis and executive-level commentary; deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Perform technical accounting research, draft memoranda, assess and implement new accounting pronouncements, and prepare schedules and documentation to support external audits.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, assist with design and monitoring of internal controls, and maintain organized records of analyses, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 2 years of professional accounting experience
  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred
  • Strong technical accounting skills with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, variance analysis, and management reporting
  • Experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is highly desirable
  • Experience supporting global accounting entities preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels of an organization
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Professional demeanor and uncompromised approach to confidentiality and workplace ethics
SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE
  • ERP systems experience required (Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Experience with BI platforms or financial data analysis tools is a plus
  • Familiarity with AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) is a plus
