Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our award-winning engineering design and consulting firm in our Indianapolis North Office. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will play a key part in maintaining and improving day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of ownership and the ability to step into an established but dynamic accounting environment. Responsibilities will include payroll, financial reporting, work in progress, client invoicing, and a variety of other accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Duties related to this position include but are not limited to:
Work in Progress (WIP)
Client Invoices
Client & Subconsultant Contract Management
Client Receipts / Collection Assistance
Payroll
Assist with financial reporting
Assist with month-end and year-end closing
Perform other duties as assigned
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
Qualifications/Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Required (Master's Degree or CPA Preferred)
Minimum of 5 Years of Accounting Experience Required - Service-Based Revenue Model Accounting Experience Preferred
Managerial / Supervisor Experience a plus
Understanding of Bookkeeping Practices & Procedures
Excellent Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Ability to Follow Verbal and Written Instructions
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Primarily Microsoft Excel)
Experience with Deltek software products is preferred but not required
