Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of legal billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits, identifying and rectifying discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Utilize aderant software for efficient and effective financial management.
  • Prepare and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, identifying trends and potential areas of concern.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as required, providing clear and concise reports to senior management.
  • Perform risk assessments, identifying potential financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate these.
  • Analyze complex financial data, providing actionable insights to drive business performance.
  • Develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts, using financial data to inform strategic planning.
  • Manage sales tax for FL, NY, NJ, PA, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the legal industry.
  • Strong knowledge of legal billing and auditing processes.
  • Proficiency in the use of aderant software or equivalent financial management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation and analysis of WIP schedules.
  • Proven ability to conduct ad hoc financial analysis and risk assessments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting, with a strong understanding of financial modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of sales tax regulations for FL, NY, NJ, PA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
