Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and assisting with budgeting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while helping the organization fulfill its mission. The CFO retains responsibility for final financial deliverables.Primary ResponsibilitiesMaintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate recording of financial transactionsSupport the CFO in developing the annual operating budget and periodic forecastsPrepare monthly draft financial statements and internal financial reports for review by the CFOReconcile key balance sheet accounts such as cash, receivables, payables, prepaids, and accrualsAssist with annual audit preparation by compiling schedules and responding to auditor inquiriesTrack and report on restricted and unrestricted funds, including grantsOversee payroll journal entries and support payroll reviewCollaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timelinessHelp develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsProvide financial support to program and administrative teams as neededAdditional duties assigned by the Chief Financial OfficerQualificationsMinimum of 5 years progressively responsible accounting experienceExperience in non‑profit or healthcare sectors is a plus but not requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principlesExperience with audit preparation and monthly close processesProficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft ExcelCPA designation or candidate status is a plus but not mandatoryStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating within a small, mission‑driven teamEducationBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.Salary and BenefitsSalary is negotiable and commensurate with education and experience.
