Our client, a well‑established and growing CPA firm with a strong presence in the Clearwater market, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (CPA) to join their team. This role will play a key part in managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and delivering high‑quality accounting, tax, and advisory services across a diverse client base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior‑level accountant overseeing client engagements from planning through completion
  • Prepare, review, and finalize complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Manage and review month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes for multiple clients
  • Perform and review adjusting journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
  • Lead and review individual, business, partnership, and corporate tax returns
  • Research and interpret accounting and tax issues; provide guidance and technical recommendations
  • Act as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong advisory relationships
  • Supervise, mentor, and review work performed by staff and senior‑level accountants
  • Ensure compliance with firm standards, regulatory requirements, and professional ethics
  • Assist with workflow management, deadlines, and engagement prioritization
  • Support practice growth initiatives and process improvement efforts as needed

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Active CPA license (required)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience within a CPA firm
  • Extensive experience in public accounting and client‑facing engagements
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting
  • Proven ability to review work and provide technical leadership
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with small to mid‑sized business clients across multiple industries
  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff
  • Strong proficiency with accounting and tax software platforms
  • Background in advisory or consultative client services
