JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant supports the finance team in performing timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting activities. Responsibilities include journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory tracking, and monthly close processes. The role assists with maintaining internal controls and supports compliance with applicable financial reporting and regulatory requirements.


DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the month-end close process and broader monthly accounting cycle, including analysis and explanation of financial variances.
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance and filings (e.g., sales and use tax or equivalent).
  • Prepare and support monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with external audit requests and annual audit support.
  • Perform cycle count processes and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Support cost accounting activities, including analysis of labor efficiency and overhead spend.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting, including variance and flux analysis on key expense accounts.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Works independently on assigned tasks, with periodic review by supervisor or manager.
  • Applies judgment within defined guidelines and responsibilities.
  • May recommend process improvements or alternative approaches to supervisor or team members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.


REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including general ledger and account reconciliation experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Problem-solving skills with an emphasis on accuracy and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and willing to learn.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Approximately 3 years of accounting experience.
  • CPA REQUIRED
  • Additional training or certifications may be beneficial.
