Position SummaryThe Diocese Of Charlotte is seeking a Senior Accountant for our Accounting Department to further the wide‑ranging work of our Ministries, Parishes, and Schools. The role will work closely with the Assistant Controller to provide financial support for the three diocesan entities:Central Administration – reports administrative activities and ministriesDL Catholic – holds funds on deposit from Diocese entities & Parishes and uses these funds to invest for the benefit of the Diocese and provide loans as neededDiocese Foundation – administers funds for endowments created for educational, religious, and charitable purposesKey ResponsibilitiesComplete account reconciliations and prepare journal entries for assigned entitiesDistribute monthly financial statements to diocesan departments and quarterly savings reports to parishesSupport financial statement reporting analysisComplete annual audit schedules and financial statements for assigned diocesan entitiesPrepare quarterly investment reportsSupport the annual planning process – prepare review templatesInitiate wire transfers and ACH transactions through banking softwareFacilitate deposits and withdrawals for parish savings accountsPrepare sales & use tax returns and refund reportsAssist with stock gift transactions and reportingMaintain accounting procedures and standard workAbility to lead and develop professionals – expected future direct reportsOther ResponsibilitiesPerform similar job‑related duties as assignedPerform ad‑hoc analysis and provide accounting support to diocesan leadershipDirect ReportsN/A#J-18808-Ljbffr
