Job Summary

  • The Sr Accountant performs monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses
  • Serve as the accounting owner of several corporate departments and conduct monthly meetings with functional leads to assess budget to actual performance
  • Initiate and lead special projects for process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Act as a liaison to segment controllers
  • Assist with company implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements
  • Identify complex accounting issues, research solutions, and prepare resolutions
  • Provide accounting support for special transactions
  • Interact with independent public accountants on accounting and reporting matters
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls
  • Support the Corporate Accounting Department with ad hoc requests

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience – public accounting and/or GL accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Public company experience preferred
  • Action oriented; thrives in a dynamic environment; takes initiative to identify and resolve issues
  • Precise, deadline-driven team member with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills; strategic thinker
  • High level of proficiency in Excel to perform spreadsheet and financial analysis
  • JD Edwards, OneStream, and ASC 842 Lease Accounting experience a plus

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers
  • Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time
  • Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence
  • Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting and requires in-person presence
