Job Summary
- The Sr Accountant performs monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses
- Serve as the accounting owner of several corporate departments and conduct monthly meetings with functional leads to assess budget to actual performance
- Initiate and lead special projects for process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
- Act as a liaison to segment controllers
- Assist with company implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements
- Identify complex accounting issues, research solutions, and prepare resolutions
- Provide accounting support for special transactions
- Interact with independent public accountants on accounting and reporting matters
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls
- Support the Corporate Accounting Department with ad hoc requests
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience – public accounting and/or GL accounting experience strongly preferred
- Public company experience preferred
- Action oriented; thrives in a dynamic environment; takes initiative to identify and resolve issues
- Precise, deadline-driven team member with strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong analytical skills; strategic thinker
- High level of proficiency in Excel to perform spreadsheet and financial analysis
- JD Edwards, OneStream, and ASC 842 Lease Accounting experience a plus
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers
- Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time
- Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence
- Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur
Work Environment:
- Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting and requires in-person presence
