Kforce has a client that is seeking a 100% remote Senior Accountant. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can independently own complex accounting functions while also contributing strategically to process optimization and systems enhancement efforts. Key Responsibilities:
  • Own assigned accounting areas through monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Lead and support cash accounting, payroll accounting, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger activities
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation
  • Oversee account reconciliations and investigate variances in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
  • Manage fixed asset accounting processes including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairments, and reconciliations
  • Support payroll accounting activities including payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations in coordination with Payroll and HR teams
  • Perform detailed variance, trend, and flux analysis and communicate findings to accounting leadership
  • Design, execute, and maintain SOX controls and supporting documentation for assigned accounting processes
  • Review documentation, accounting outputs, and reconciliation activities completed by automated tools, AI-assisted workflows, or junior accounting staff
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance Systems, Treasury, FP&A, Internal Audit, Payroll, and Operations teams
  • Drive process improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate and leverage AI-enabled accounting tools and automation technologies including solutions such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, and related technologies
  • Support accounting system functionality, integrations, and process enhancements within NetSuite and related financial systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry accounting
  • Strong experience operating at a Lead Accountant or Accounting Manager level in a hands-on individual contributor capacity
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, general ledger accounting, and SOX/internal controls
  • Strong NetSuite ERP experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience working with large data sets and system-generated reporting
  • Experience supporting automation initiatives, process redesign, or accounting transformation efforts
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fully remote environment
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of operating independently with minimal oversight
Proven experience with:
  • General ledger accounting
  • Cash accounting
  • Payroll accounting
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Full-cycle close processes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems such as Kyriba strongly preferred
  • Public company accounting experience
  • Experience with NetSuite Account Reconciliation (NSAR)
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools within accounting operations
  • Familiarity with accounting workflow automation and reconciliation optimization tools

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
