Our Cloud and Data Center clients span the nation. Unlike most providers, we own and operate our own SOC 2–audited data center — where others resell someone else's infrastructure, we own the stack. We are seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Senior Account Executive to own the full sales cycle — from first conversation to signed agreement — for our managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and data center services. This role is a combination of onsite work and travel around the greater Pittsburgh area to meet with prospective clients and executive decision-makers. This is a true hunter-closer role. You will generate your own pipeline through your professional network while also converting the qualified leads our marketing team and referral sources provide. You'll sell to the C-suite — earning the trust of CEOs, CFOs, and IT leaders — and partner closely with our engineering, security, and data center teams to scope accurate, deliverable solutions. You close because you're disciplined, prepared, and precise. - Own the full sales cycle for new-business opportunities: discovery, solution scoping, proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Generate your own pipeline through your professional network, referrals, and industry events — while working the leads provided to you with equal rigor and follow-through.
- Conduct in-person meetings with executive prospects around the tri-state area to build trust and demonstrate Ascent Data's solutions.
- Understand each prospect's short- and long-term goals and align managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and data center solutions to their business objectives.
- Engage credibly at the C-suite level and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying decisions.
- Partner with Ascent Data's technical and marketing teams to scope deliverable solutions and align sales initiatives with marketing strategy.
- Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene and deliver accurate, reliable pipeline forecasts leadership can count on.
- Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals, rewarded by an uncapped commission structure.
Qualifications & Experience - 4–8+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in IT services, managed services (MSP), cybersecurity, cloud solutions, or the data center industry.
- A demonstrated closing track record — quota attainment and new business you personally drove to signature.
- Comfort and credibility selling at the C-suite level within complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- An established professional network and the proven ability to self-generate pipeline.
- Detail orientation and discipline: accurate scoping, clean CRM, reliable forecasts, and thorough follow-through.
- Strong understanding of IT services, managed services, and data solutions (or the ability to learn quickly).
- Experience working with marketing teams and aligning sales efforts with marketing strategies.
- Self-starter with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with local travel around Pittsburgh to meet with clients.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, CMMC, HIPAA, or PCI is a plus.
- A valid driver's license.
- Base salary of $95,000–$120,000 with an unlimited commission structure; on-target earnings of $190,000–$250,000, and top performers earning $300,000+.
