Senior Account Executive – Industrial Sales
Location: Naperville, IL (Hybrid / Remote / Field-Based) - MUST LIVE IN CHICAGO AREA / SUBURBS
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base + commission | Total comp $150,000–$200,000+

Overview

A well-established industrial manufacturer with a premium domestic product line is looking for a field-based sales professional to take ownership of a defined territory in the greater Joliet / SW suburbs area. The territory comes with an existing account base and real room to grow. This is a business development role, not an order-taking position. Inside sales, application engineers, and customer service handle the back-office work so the person in this seat can stay focused on what matters most — being in front of customers and finding new business.

The company is agile with strong brand recognition behind it. The culture is stable, turnover is low, and the people who do well here tend to stay. Top performers on the current team earn well above $200,000 with no cap on earnings.

What the Job Involves

·Take full ownership of an assigned territory with a concentration of process industry accounts

·Identify and pursue new business opportunities with chemical plants, refineries, oil and gas facilities, and industrial manufacturers

·Conduct regular customer visits, needs assessments, and business reviews with key decision makers

·Grow wallet share within existing accounts by uncovering additional applications and opportunities

·Coordinate with inside sales, application engineers, and customer service to deliver a smooth customer experience

·Maintain an accurate pipeline with consistent activity tracking and forecasting

·Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer functions as needed

·Stay current on competitive activity, industry trends, and evolving customer needs within the territory

What They Need

·BS/BA is required in Engineering, Business, Sales, Operations, or a related field

·2+ years of outside B2B industrial sales experience; candidates with strong fundamentals and less experience will be considered

·Process industry background strongly preferred including oil and gas, chemical, or refining environments

·Comfortable working inside plant and refinery settings including PPE requirements and large industrial facilities

·Proven ability to develop new business and expand existing relationships

·Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to communicate technical value to end users

·Ability to read technical drawings and P&IDs is a plus

·Self-motivated, high energy, and comfortable representing a premium product at a price premium

·Proficient in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
