Class Description
The purpose of this class is to provide advance level support in providing academic support, guidance, and feedback to students.
Minimum Requirements
- Masters degree in education and minimum four years of experience teaching or tutoring and use of student information systems.
- Experience working with adult learners in providing instruction, advising, academic support services, academic skills assessment and/or study skills instruction.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, as evidenced by assignments of increased responsibility including but not limited to, participation in planning and orchestration of initiatives related to student retention and completion, as well as training and outreach activities involving other professional advisors, faculty and staff.
- Valid drivers license in good standing with violation points less than five (5).

Class Specific Essential Duties
- Provide individualized guidance, coaching and feedback to students through frequent meetings. Students may include those experiencing academic difficulty requiring assistance in developing personal and academic skills required for independent learning.
- For students placing below developmental reading and writing thresholds, discuss results with students and make referrals to college and community resources.
- Orient students to college resources including Counseling, Registrar, Library, Career Center, Advising and other key resources.
- Interface with students, faculty and support services to monitor student course progress. May prepare student progress interval reports. Reinforce plan of study prescribed by Coordinator of Developmental Education when provided.
- Maintain appropriate records and logs documenting meeting dates, reasons and progress.
- May conduct small group workshops or training focused on study skills and academic support.
- May research and update academic support materials and resources.

Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
