De Soto Area School District is seeking an innovative educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, develop positive relationships with students and parents and build partnerships with the community. This position will perform SEL lessons for students in Grades K-5 with our Second Step Curriculum. This position requires a dynamic and progressive teacher who has a strong background in: 1) WiMLSS, 2) Professional Learning Communities and 3) PBIS. The preferred candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and demonstrate a positive attitute. This position requires strong behavior management skills with training and/or experience in working with studenbts with behavior and/or emotional difficulties. Candidates must have knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) strategies and techniques or have a willingness to be trained. Person hired will work with the PBIS team to assist regular classroom teachers in supporting student behaviors. This is a limited term contract working with students in both De Soto Elementary Schools.
