Essential:

  • 5 plus years hotel security management experience.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Able to drive all company vehicles.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written. Ability to provide legible communication and directions.
  • Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).
  • Ability to:

  • Certification of previous training in computers.
  • Certification of previous training in alcohol awareness program.
  • Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods and fire safety.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid to include AED.
  • Knowledge in a second language.

Physical Abilities Essentials:

  • Remain in stationary position for 60 minutes throughout work shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk on a continuous basis and run as warranted.
  • Ability to lift, carry and store in overhead areas approximately 25
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb (including stairs and ladders) and reach.
  • Possession of 20/40 vision, with or without corrective lenses.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental, division and hotel policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities in order to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete awareness of:
  • scheduled group activities and house count.
  • hotel facilities and services.
  • hours of operation.
  • facility layout.
  • fire and emergency plans.
  • departmental rules of conduct.
  • Report any incident to department heads when it concerns their department.
  • Notify General Manager and Rooms Director regarding any reports involving possible liability.
  • Brief General Manager and Rooms Director on all matters requiring their attention.
  • Ensure all Security personnel adhere to corporate, company and department policies, procedures and standards.
  • Monitor supervision of the entire Security staff.
  • Determine personnel staffing levels and assign locations.
  • Continually evaluate subordinates.
  • Approve scheduled vacations and replacements as needed.
  • Investigate complaints relative to security personnel.
  • Manage all fire alarms and emergencies within the property.
  • Monitor access to Lost and Found and valuable lock-up areas. Monitor control of back up keys to the Executive Offices. Ensure only authorized individuals are permitted access to this area.
  • Chair the Safety Committee.
  • Liaise and maintain open communication with law enforcement, fire department and other regulatory agencies.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide interdepartmental assistance upon request to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Monitor and approve security service for banquet functions and meeting rooms.
  • Monitor documented maintenance needs on work orders.
