Security Specialist The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Operational Technology Division (OTD) We are supporting the FBI’s Operational Technology Division (OTD) with security operations across multiple sites in Virginia. The Security Specialist plays a key role in personnel security and clearance processing, working closely with FBI security teams to manage investigations, track statuses, and ensure compliance. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role in a fast-paced environment that supports both security operations and administrative tracking in a secure setting. Place of performance: This role is primarily based in Quantico, VA, with occasional support to nearby FBI locations: Stafford, VA, Fredericksburg, VA, and Newington, VA Schedule Hours: Monday through Friday, normal business hours (excluding Federal holidays). Workload may fluctuate based on clearance processing volume. Requirements: Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible) Minimum 3+ years of experience in security-related work (personnel, physical, or industrial security) Experience supporting clearance processing, background investigations, or security tracking Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Manage and track personnel security cases, including background investigations and clearance processing Initiate and monitor investigations using government systems (e.g., NBIS or similar) Coordinate with the FBI Security Division and other stakeholders to obtain the required information Maintain accurate records and track the status of personnel undergoing clearance processes Provide regular updates and reports on case progress and overall metrics Conduct or coordinate security briefings and debriefings Support visitor processing and access control activities as needed Assist with documentation, data entry, and system updates in secure databases Communicate with field offices and internal teams regarding security requirements Help ensure compliance with all security policies and procedures Support the team in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations What Success Looks Like Clearance processes are tracked accurately and move efficiently Strong coordination with FBI security personnel Timely updates and clean documentation Minimal errors in case tracking and reporting Why This Role Matters: This role is critical to ensuring that personnel are properly vetted and cleared, directly supporting secure FBI operations and mission readiness.#CB
