This position is located in the Facilities Protection Division, Office of Overseas Protective Operations, International Programs Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic security  (DS/IP/OPO/FPD).

In this position you will serve as a Desk Officer with responsibility for providing policy guidance and management oversight of local guard, and surveillance detection programs and local bodyguard operations that provide security for U.S. government employees and dependents at overseas posts.

Requirements: Qualifications:

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. 

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience which demonstrates the ability to develop, interpret, and implement policies, standards and procedures for security programs, including local guard, bodyguard and surveillance detection operations and
  • Experience which demonstrates skill in financial and budget management, including reviewing budget submissions, validating cost justifications, forecasting resource needs and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines or;
  • Experience conducting program evaluations and compliance reviews, identifying deficiencies, recommending corrective actions and ensuring adherence to established policies and standards across multiple locations.

 There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
