What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government corrections environment.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and movement throughout the location, verify credentials when required, and communicate with site contacts regarding security-related issues, visitor activity, and/or procedural concerns.
- Support daily operations by maintaining a visible presence, completing routine reports, and following post orders, policies, and directions related to a controlled government facility.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
