As a Security Officer Patrol Deterrence Officer in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a dynamic education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support a welcoming environment, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism, and bring an agile, reliable, innovative, and team-focused approach rooted in integrity and care.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with supervisors and/or designated campus personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry points and campus activity, verify access permissions when required, and provide guidance to visitors and/or vendors in accordance with location protocols.
• Support daily operations during classes, events, and/or high-traffic periods by assisting with directions, reporting hazards or maintenance concerns, and following post orders for the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
