Job Summary




Protects the organization's employees, properties and all items of value on premises from any preventable harm or danger | Develops security policies and procedures that comply with government guidelines and standards | Conducts investigations to protect organization assets | Responds to contingency events, including bomb threats, sabotage and severe weather conditions through on-site security force or with the assistance of government law enforcement agencies | Recommends hiring of outside security contractors as necessary and may oversee contract guard force | Responsibilities are within the Security Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Essential Functions




Manages security protocols and ensures they are followed for the protection of the organization's property, assets, and people.
Maintains and may implement safety and security protocols for assigned facilities.
Managing the coordination and administration of security clearances.
Ensures processes are in place for preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and evicting trespassers.
Review and/ or respond to requests for safety/security assistance from employees.
May coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
Takes proactive steps and assesses risks to ensure a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
Leads the investigation of crimes with leadership support.
May conduct educational activities related to safety and crime prevention.
Assigns or oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards.
Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas.
May also act as a liaison between site security and IT to ensure proper access is maintained for high security areas.


Required Qualifications




Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications




Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Decision-making skills. Oral and written communication skills. Problem/situation analysis. Judgement. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Attentiveness.


Physical Requirements




Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is Safety-Sensitive.


Travel Requirements




No or very little travel likely.


Pay Range (USD)




Min= 85,000; Mid= 100,000; Max=115,000

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
