Responsibilities


+ Supports physical security of company facilities and operations globally.

+ Executes procedures and processes to provide protection for personnel and company property and meet required codes and regulations.

+ Observes facilities from both a fixed post and by patrolling on foot. Prevents access of unauthorized individuals to company sites or spaces and unauthorized removal or damage of company property.

+ Maintains and updates visitor logs and completes incident reports. Documents shift activity in the Daily Activity Log.

+ Utilizes the access control system to produce, activate and deactivate access to sites or spaces globally.

+ Works with third-party alarm monitoring companies to respond to and resolve intrusion detection alarm incidents following established directions and guidelines.

+ Will interact with Brightstar internal customers (employees, tenants) as well as Brightstar external customers such as lotteries, auditors, etc.


BUSINESS EXPERTISE


Understands Brightstar security directives and how Physical Security partners with Facilities, IT, HR, Compliance, and site Operations to protect people, property, and continuity of service. Applies working knowledge of access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion and fire alarm systems, visitor management, and lottery-related requirements when performing post duties, issuing/adjusting access, and documenting incidents and activity.


PROBLEM SOLVING


Resolves routine to moderately complex security issues—such as unauthorized access attempts, alarm activations, equipment irregularities, and policy non-compliance—by applying established procedures, sound judgment, and clear documentation. Prioritizes and multitasks in a fast paced, 24/7 environment, escalating when risks exceed post authority or when incidents require additional resources.


NATURE & AREA OF IMPACT


Directly impacts the safety, security posture, and customer experience at Brightstar facilities by controlling access, monitoring security systems, documenting events, and responding to incidents. Work quality affects local site operations day to day and, through access provisioning and alarm handling, can support additional Brightstar locations as assigned.


INTERACTIONS / INTERPERSONAL SKILLS


Will interact with Brightstar internal customers (employees, tenants) as well as Brightstar external customers such as lotteries, auditors, etc.


Qualifications


+ Minimum Education: High school diploma, or equivalent

+ Preferred Education: Associates degree

+ Minimum Experience:

+ Basic knowledge of skills in: Federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, Security/law enforcement equipment, Security protective systems (fire alarms, building access, etc.), Security systems, including CCTV, Access Control and intrusion alarm systems, Computers and programs such as Microsoft Windows and Office.

+ Must pass Brightstar’s background check, a financial background check, and all customer state lottery background checks and obtain required lottery licenses. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for an extended period of time. Typically has 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in security.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $31,096 – $67,496. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.


Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
