As a Security Officer Active Patrol Guard in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities in an educational setting with public-facing spaces.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, students, and local responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, galleries, common areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and student activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Support daily operations by documenting incidents, completing routine reports, and assisting with directions, wayfinding, and other customer service needs across the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
