Position Summary: Under the Director of Security & Safety/Emergency Management, the Security Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall planning, development, and delivery of security response training and exercise activities necessary to ensure a rapid, coordinated, efficient, and effective response by the organization and partner agencies in the event of a security related event. Drives the prevention of incidents through the implementation of high-risk-activity management processes, emergency response planning, and safety protocols. Works to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is achieved by identifying risks and unsafe practices, implementing controls to mitigate risk, monitoring performance, and compliance with Gila River Health Cares (GRHC) standards and applicable regulations.

Critical Tasks:

  • With excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to conceptualize and organize complex and detailed information into easy-to-follow formats and useable tools for their team of Supervisors: safety operations; streamlining work processes; Training; Drills & Exercises.
  • Manages payroll, paid time off requests
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires new staff
  • Oversees daily workflow and performance evaluations
  • Organizes, coordinates, and develops training programs and tactical exercises and drills.
  • Periodically inspects, audits, and reviews safe work practices to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Supports incident investigations and root cause analysis, so that corrective and preventive actions can be identified, communicated globally, and implemented.
  • Uses working knowledge of principles and practices of public/government organizations, principles and practices of local Law Enforcement, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, Arizona Counter Terrorism Intelligence Center, and Office of Emergency Management to facilitate meetings to achieve needed outcomes, motivate people and teams, and develop staff.
  • Exhibits behaviors and actions to maintain GRHCs credibility, integrity, and positive image both within and outside the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Security or Business Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of development and/or delivery of security or law enforcement training experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Prior working knowledge of principles and practices of public/government organizations, principles and practices of local emergency management.
  • Holds, or must obtain within one year, a certificate of completion for the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security Supervisor Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Holder of certificate of completion for Hospital Emergency Response Training (HERT) Train-the-Trainer and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) methodology.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Indian Community and other Native American culture and community health services.
