What You'll Do:

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and/or designated site leadership, responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment for participants, staff, visitors, vendors, and property at the Benson location. Monitors facility access, patrols grounds, responds to incidents, and supports emergency preparedness efforts. Exercises sound judgment in handling safety concerns while demonstrating professionalism and respect toward the elderly population served.

  • Monitors and controls entry and exit points to the Benson location, verifying visitors, vendors, and contractors according to established procedures.
  • Conducts routine patrols of interior and exterior areas, parking lots, and perimeter grounds to identify safety, security, or maintenance concerns.
  • Responds promptly to alarms, disturbances, medical emergencies, falls, suspicious activity, and other incidents; notifies leadership and emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Assists with participant, visitor, and staff safety by providing escorts, directions, and support when needed.
  • Maintains daily activity logs, incident reports, visitor records, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Observes and reports hazards such as spills, broken equipment, unlocked doors, lighting issues, or environmental risks that may affect participant safety.
  • Supports emergency preparedness plans including fire drills, evacuations, severe weather procedures, and disaster response activities.
  • Helps de-escalate conflicts using calm communication and professional presence; requests additional assistance when necessary.
  • Coordinates with Transportation, Day Center, Home Care, and administrative staff regarding participant movement and security needs.
  • Monitors cameras, access systems, and security equipment; reports malfunctions for repair.
  • Maintains confidentiality of participant, employee, and organizational information.
  • Demonstrates a professional attitude and courteous approach with participants, families, staff, and all visitors.
  • Complies with established department and organizational policies, procedures, safety standards, and objectives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
  • Prior security, law enforcement, military, healthcare security, or related experience, Preferred
  • CPR / First Aid Certification, Preferred
  • Experience working with elderly, disabled, or vulnerable populations, Preferred
  • Strong observational, communication, and conflict de-escalation skills
  • Ability to remain calm in emergencies and exercise sound judgment
  • Basic computer and report-writing skills
  • Valid Driver's License, Preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and respond quickly throughout shift
