Security Guard- As Needed

Location: McLean, VA

Schedule: As Needed (shifts may range from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM or 12:00 PM-8:00 PM)

Vinson Hall (VH), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located in McLean, VA, is seeking a reliable and professional Security Guard to join our team on a part-time, as-needed basis. This position will support the Assisted Living department and the broader community, helping to ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the premises, responding to safety concerns, and assisting with security-related tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is attentive, dependable, and able to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
• Valid security guard license (if required by Virginia regulations)
• Ability to remain alert, professional, and calm in all situations
• Strong communication and observational skills
• Ability to walk, stand, or patrol for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances, exits, and the premises to ensure safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors
• Conduct regular patrols of the property and report any unusual activity
• Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or incidents
• Assist with enforcing community policies and procedures
• Provide support and guidance to residents and staff as needed
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation of incidents or observations
• Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns
