Shift/Schedule

  • Part Time - Scheduled for 20 Weekly Hours

  • Shift Dates - Monday through Friday

  • Shift Times - 8:30am-5pm

THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION

Responsible for the accurate, efficient and courteous scheduling, pre-registration and registration of patients. Completes outpatient charts with copy of face sheet and referral from physician. Makes sure an appropriate referral has been made and, if needed, contacts physician's office for accurate diagnosis. Billing experience, IDC-10, coding and CPT terminology required. Completes abstracting for each patient. Orders supplies and performs general receptionist duties for the Rehab department. Multiple locations, variable day time hours.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required as well as knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
  • Approximately one to two years previous secretarial experience required; preference in providing support to multiple individuals/departments in fast-paced environment.
  • Successful completion of medical terminology course
  • Prior registration experience preferred.
  • Computer skills - PMM and Excel strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; will have extensive contact with patients and need to be welcoming and accepting of diverse population.
  • Good telephone skills; independent worker
  • Accurate typing skills at 35 wpm

Working Conditions

Office environment with little exposure to dust, noise and temperature. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail 80% or more of work time. Hours and duties need to be flexible based on patient needs

Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services
