    Secretary to the Principal

    Full-time 12-Month Position with Benefits

    Starting Salary: Step 1 $ 43,574

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or additional secretarial, administrative, or business training preferred.

    2. Prior secretarial or administrative experience required; experience in a public school or elementary school setting preferred.

    3. Proficiency in Genesis Student Information System, Frontline, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other office technology.

    4. Strong organizational, time-management, recordkeeping, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    5. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.

    6. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with administrators, teachers, staff, students, families, and members of the public.

    7. Ability to maintain accurate student, personnel, attendance, and school records while preserving strict confidentiality.

    8. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately to sensitive situations in a busy elementary school office.

    9. Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.

    10. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).

    REPORTS TO: Harding Principal & Assistant Principal

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of tenure track positions per collective bargaining agreement. Starting salary: Step 1 - $ 43,574

    • The position is eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
