JOB TITLE: Secretary - FHS Main Office
AVAILABLE: 2026-27 School Year (potential training may occur in June 2026)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
1. High School Diploma.
2. Associates Degree in a secretarial program, Microsoft Office Specialist certification, or 2 years of secretarial/clerical experience.
3. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computer systems.
4. Demonstrates knowledge of Google computer applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, and publishing).
5. Demonstrates competence in the utilization of office terminology and a proficiency in the use of the English language.
6. Ability to plan work effectively and maintain an organized office.
7. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with Board policies and established procedures.
9. Good communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously with students, staff, and parents.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
11. Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently.
Preferred
1. Experience with Schools Open software.
2. Experience with Synergy
3. Experience in a similar position
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Assists in the efficient operation of the high school office. Performs routine duties that support the building administrators.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Greet students, parents, and others coming to the office to conduct school business.
2. Responsible for creating an atmosphere of cooperation and harmony with fellow workers, administrators, staff, students and the public.
3. Work with building administrators to schedule outside partners for graduation and other school events
4. Answer the phone and direct calls.
5. Write student passes and help meet student requests.
6. Utilize Schools Open to look up schedules, attendance, and other information.
7. Distribute mail.
8. Responsible for payroll/timesheets of FHS ancillary staff
9. Distributes keys for staff
10. Manages Substitutes and Guest Teacher placements
11. Complete copy work as needed.
12. Cover other secretarial positions when needed.
13. Care for sick and/or injured children.
14. Dispense medication to students in accordance with district policy and regulation.
15. Other job-related duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE: As directed by the Administrator(s).
COMPENSATION: $18.91
