Location: Central Office, Regional School District No. 1 Work Year: 12-months Start Date: July 6, 2026
Regional School District No. 1 is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Executive Business Analyst to support the Business Manager and the operations of the Region One Business Office.
This position serves as a key member of the Business Office team and provides support in financial analysis, budget development, state reporting, strategic planning, collective bargaining support, project management, grant administration, business communications, and executive-level administrative functions. The Executive Business Analyst plays an integral role in researching, organizing, analyzing, and presenting information that supports informed decision-making across the district.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Financial Analysis and Business Office Support
Assist with the development and preparation of the Region One budget.
Research, analyze, and present financial and operational data.
Support annual state and federal reporting requirements.
Assist with grant applications, reporting, and compliance activities.
Participate in annual financial audits and related documentation.
Prepare expenditure reports, financial presentations, and budget analyses.
Support business office operations as needed, including purchasing, vendor administration, and financial record maintenance.
Strategic Projects and Planning
Assist with district-wide special projects, construction initiatives, and operational planning efforts.
Support implementation of district initiatives related to facilities, transportation, food services, health and safety, and other operational areas.
Conduct research and analysis related to personnel, operations, and financial planning.
Prepare reports and recommendations to support administrative decision-making.
Communications and Professional Writing
Develop professional reports, presentations, correspondence, contracts, bid documents, and other business-related materials.
Prepare budget presentations and supporting materials for boards, administrators, and community stakeholders.
Manage business office website content and communications as assigned.
Executive Support
Provide direct support to the Business Manager.
Coordinate meetings, agendas, documentation, and project materials.
Prepare meeting notes and maintain records for assigned committees and meetings.
Serve as recording secretary for designated district committees and meetings.
Assist with correspondence and communications on behalf of the Business Manager.
Support the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of personnel, financial, and operational information.
Attend professional development activities to maintain and expand knowledge of school business operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required.
Progress toward or possession of the Connecticut 085 School Business Administrator Certification is preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience supporting business, financial, administrative, or operational functions.
Experience in a school district, municipal, governmental, or similarly complex organization preferred.
