POSITION: 10 Month Special Education Administrative Assistant

LOCATIONS OF ASSIGNMENT: East Hampton High School

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: August 13, 2026

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The position of special education administrative assistant serves as the liaison between the building principal and special education team leader in communicating information to families, providers and agencies, scheduling and confidential record keeping. Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining files for special education and 504's. Entering and maintaining data for students. Producing and distributing information to staff, students and parents as requested. Proactively scheduling meetings within set timelines. Performs all general office tasks including, clerical, secretarial, and organizational tasks required for the day to day operation of the building.

Pay Rate: 26.01-27.68

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Detail oriented
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and electronic
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with various software programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience working with IEP (Individualized Educational Planning) software, preferred
  • Knowledge of the special education process preferred
