PGS Worldwide is seeking a Software Product Acquisition Manager in Fort Worth, TX for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Software Product Acquisition Manager will support a hardware Integrated Product Team responsible for managing supplier software development for mission computing products. This role includes overseeing supplier software activities, coordinating software deliveries, tracking software issue metrics, supporting interface documentation, and bridging communication between suppliers and internal software development teams.
Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a STEM-related technical discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree with 9–15 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 7–13 years of relevant experience.
• 3–5 years of JIRA experience.
• Supplier management experience.
• 5+ years of previous software development experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, or Python.
• Strong discipline in software development processes and methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to bridge communication between suppliers and software developers.
• Ability to provide engineering management and oversight of supplier software development.
• Ability to coordinate supplier software deliveries.
• Ability to report project status to program management.
• Ability to manage software issue metrics and support issue resolution.
• Eligibility for program-specific clearance.
Preferred Skills
• Prior Software Product Manager or similar supplier-facing software management experience.
• Experience interfacing with external suppliers.
• Experience with JIRA, SW Depot, CART, and Automet.
• SIMS experience.
• Supplier technical management experience.
• Experience supporting mission computing products.
• Experience with Interface Requirements Specifications or message format definitions.
What You’ll Do
• Oversee supplier software development activities.
• Influence software design decisions related to supplier-developed products.
• Ensure timely, high-quality supplier software deliveries.
• Coordinate supplier software deliveries and communicate delivery status.
• Report periodic project status to program management.
• Manage Software Problem Anomaly Report metrics.
• Support software issue resolution with internal teams and suppliers.
• Maintain entries in the Air System Restrictions Database and flight-series data modules.
• Update and publish Interface Requirements Specifications.
• Update message format definitions in the Signal Interface Management System.
• Serve as a technical coordination point between suppliers and software development teams.
Pay
• $25.00 - $125.00 per hour
