PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Electromechanical Technician in Plymouth, MA for a temporary onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electromechanical Technician will support the assembly, testing, and integration of prototype technologies in a laboratory environment. This hands-on role focuses on detailed mechanical and electromechanical assembly, cable and harness fabrication, electrical testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. An active Secret clearance and eligibility for Special Access Program access are required.
Required Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a technical laboratory, manufacturing, or prototype environment.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program access.
• Proficiency with mechanical assembly techniques, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using torque wrenches and applying thread-locking compounds such as Loctite.
• Experience properly handling and mixing epoxies and other adhesives.
• Familiarity with ESD and FOD control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
• Cable and harness assembly experience, including crimping, connectorization, labeling, and routing.
• Continuity testing and basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience handling and assembling circuit card assemblies.
• Soldering experience.
• Material management or purchasing-process experience.
• IPC soldering or wire-harness certification.
What You'll Do
• Perform detailed mechanical and electromechanical assembly of prototypes.
• Place and fasten components according to torque specifications.
• Apply epoxies, adhesives, greases, and related materials according to engineering documentation.
• Build and modify cable and harness assemblies.
• Perform continuity tests and basic electrical checks.
• Handle circuit card assemblies according to ESD requirements.
• Maintain accurate assembly, test, and modification records.
• Assist engineers with troubleshooting assembly and test issues.
• Support inventory tracking, component organization, and material purchasing activities as needed.
• Follow applicable safety, quality, FOD, and engineering requirements.
Work Schedule / Shift
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
• 1st shift.
• Overtime expected.
Pay
• $47.08 per hour
