BASIC FUNCTION

The QHS Academic Curriculum Liaison is a stipend-based leadership position responsible for instructional activities in each core department and throughout the building.

QUALIFICATION

  • IL Professional Educator License in content area (science endorsement). -Current teaching position in the content area for desired position. -Master's degree in Education Administration, Teacher Leader Specialist, and/or content area preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department to model, observe, and discuss instructional practice and strategies after school and/or during the scheduled planning period. -Facilitate the development and review of standards aligned/competency-based assessments for the content area. -Serve as the instructional leader/liaison for the department. -Facilitate the implementation of the QPS standards-aligned curriculum, instruction, and assessment system. -Facilitate department specific professional development monthly. -Attend monthly collaboration meeting with building level administration. -Attend quarterly K-12 QPS District Curriculum Leadership Meetings (professional release days).

Performance Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will exhibit the ability to:

Collaborate with a team of instrumental band teachers to deliver 6th - 12th grade to assist and lead band instruction and direction.

Direct QJHS Concert Band in instrumental performances and assist with all other bands. Direct QHS Symphonic Band. Teach high school music elective.

Some extra-curricular groups will also be available with the position (ex. High School marching band assistant, pep band, jazz band)

Monitor and assess student musical growth

Create effective communication with students and parents.

Build positive and collaborative relationships with fellow music teachers and a positive and energetic rapport with students and parents
