Position Summary

Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools is seeking a qualified, student-centered educator to fill one Secondary English/History Teacher position beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to instructional excellence, collaborative teamwork, and fostering high levels of learning for all students.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, standards-aligned English Language Arts and Social Studies instruction for students in grades 6-12 (assignment based on certification and district need)
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the Michigan Academic Standards
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
  • Implement MTSS practices to support academic success and student achievement
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Integrate technology and instructional best practices into daily instruction
  • Participate in district professional development and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate secondary English Language Arts and/or Social Studies endorsement(s) based on assignment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in literacy, writing instruction, and/or social studies instruction
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to collaboration and continuous professional growth
  • Middle School Teaching experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dual certification or multiple secondary endorsements preferred
  • Experience teaching middle and/or high school English Language Arts and/or Social Studies
  • Experience working within an MTSS or PBIS framework
  • Familiarity with curriculum alignment and standards-based grading
  • Experience integrating instructional technology to enhance student learning

Compensation

Salary and benefits per the Master Agreement.
