Position Summary

The SEC Reporting Analyst plays a key role in supporting the preparation and delivery of periodic financial reports and related disclosures for both regulatory filings and stakeholder reporting. This position contributes to the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements.

Working as part of a broader financial reporting team, this individual collaborates cross-functionally to gather, validate, and analyze financial data, ensuring consistency across multiple reporting outputs. The role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of financial reporting frameworks, and the ability to operate in a deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, preparation, and compilation of quarterly and annual financial reports, including footnotes, disclosures, supporting documentation, and presentation materials
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external reviews of financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
  • Collect, validate, and document financial data and supporting materials used in reporting deliverables
  • Perform reconciliations between general ledger data and underlying source systems, and prepare variance (flux) analyses to identify key business drivers and trends
  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as accounting, investments, treasury, tax, risk, legal, actuarial, and audit to gather inputs and ensure alignment across reporting processes
  • Contribute to process improvements and participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA) or progress toward CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or a related field, preferably within financial services or a similarly regulated industry
  • Experience with financial reporting and disclosure tools (e.g., Workiva or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with financial consolidation and reporting systems (e.g., Oracle FCCS, OneStream, or comparable tools)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization
