Job Summary: The primary objective of the Youth Activities Center Worker is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in a drop-in childcare setting serving infants as young as 6-weeks through children ages 10 and up. Staff are responsible for actively supervising children, supporting their developmental needs, and creating a positive experience for families through attentive care and age-appropriate activities. Additionally, staff must accurately check-in and charge those who enter the facility accordingly.
Essential Job Duties: - Supervise and engage children of varying ages, from infants (6 weeks) through school-aged youth, in a drop-in childcare setting - Provide attentive care that supports the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of infants, toddlers, and young children - Maintain constant awareness of children's safety, location, and well-being at all times - Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, sensory play, and quiet activities to keep children engaged - Ensure proper diapering, feeding support, and basic care routines as needed for infants and toddlers - Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming childcare environment - Enforce behavior expectations using positive guidance techniques - Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and emergency protocols - Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and parents regarding children's needs and behaviors - Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm
Required Skills and Qualifications: - CPR (training provided) - Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience in a professional or nannying setting is required (informal babysitting of siblings or family members does not meet this requirement) - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with infants, toddlers, and young children - Strong ability to take initiative in planning and leading creative, engaging activities for a wide age range of children - Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills - Strong understanding of age-appropriate supervision and developmental needs - Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team - Physically able to lift infants and participate in floor-based and active play as needed
Pay Rate: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour Employment Type: Seasonal Start Date: April - May 2026
