Introduction

Are you a passionate individual looking for a rewarding seasonal opportunity? If so, we encourage you to apply for one of the Seasonal Worker positions below! The State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services (DDS) - is looking to fill multiple seasonal roles at Camp Harkness in Waterford, CT and Camp Quinebaug in Killingly, CT. We have both full-time and part-time positions available. You will be asked to specify which role(s) you are applying for once you submit your application.

Duration:

These are seasonal positions. Seasonal positions at Camp Quinebaug are expected to end no later than May 29, 2026, while the remaining positions are expected to end no later than August 6, 2026. Applicants must be able to work the full season and must complete all DDS training. Incumbents must be flexible to meet the needs of the agency. Statewide travel may be expected.

Please note: You must be at least 18 years old as of April 4, 2026 in order to be considered for these positions.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In a state agency this class performs tasks and duties of a seasonal nature by providing services to clients or the public. Work areas covered by this class shall include the assignments and hourly rates as listed below:

Minimum and maximum hourly rates will be subject to the following criteria:

Returning Seasonal Workers may receive $.50 an hour additional compensation for each season of service up to the maximum hourly rate.

OR Experienced workers in the specific functional area with another employer may be credited with such time on an equivalent basis to seasons worked and granted the same additional compensation up to the maximum hourly rate.

OR Undergraduate or graduate students may be granted additional compensation of up to $.50 more per hour (up to the maximum hourly rate) for each full year of completed education on the basis of 30 semester hours equaling one (1) year.

NOTE: Determination of hourly rate is based on the above criteria. Additional compensation is based on only one criterion.
