Position Summary:
The Stable Gate Security is responsible for maintaining a secure and controlled environment at the racetrack’s backside entrance. This role ensures that only authorized individuals and properly documented horses enter the stable area while enforcing Wyoming Gaming Commission (WGC) regulations and racetrack security policies. The Stable Gate Security monitors access, verifies credentials and horse documentation, and maintains accurate records to support the safety of horses, racing participants, and racetrack property.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Control access at the stable gate to ensure only authorized personnel enter the barn area.
- Verify that all individuals entering the stable area possess a valid Wyoming Gaming Commission license.
- Confirm that guests are properly signed in under a licensed individual and record guest information in the logbook.
- Maintain secure gate operations by ensuring the gate remains closed when not actively permitting access.
- Verify that arriving horses have required documentation including current Coggins tests, Pyro tests, and health certificates.
- Deny entry to horses without proper documentation in accordance with established policies.
- Record horse arrivals, including trainer assignment and arrival times.
- Make copies of required horse documentation and deliver records to the race office for official filing.
- Direct horse haulers and transport vehicles to designated unloading and parking areas as required.
- Monitor stable area activity and prevent unauthorized vehicles or individuals from entering the barn area.
- Maintain awareness of gate conditions to prevent accidental openings or security breaches.
- Assist with maintaining a safe environment in the event of loose horses or other security concerns.
- Communicate with security leadership, racing officials, and the race office regarding gate operations or irregularities.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow strict procedures and security protocols
- Strong observation and documentation skills
- Experience in security, gate operations, or racetrack environments
- Familiarity with horse racing operations and stable area procedures
- Experience working with regulatory or controlled access environments

Licensing Status
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required licenses or credentials from the Wyoming Gaming Commission or other applicable regulatory authorities.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily at the stable gate and barn entrance areas of the racetrack facility.
- Requires standing, walking, and monitoring gate activity for extended periods.
- Work is conducted outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Interaction with horses, trainers, haulers, and racing personnel is frequent.
- Schedule includes early mornings during training hours and race days, as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays during the racing season.
- High level of vigilance required to ensure security and regulatory compliance in a busy racing environment.
