Lake Heritage POA is looking for a seasonal pool supervisor to oversee and ensure the efficient, effective, and safe operation of the LHPOA Pool Facility, including the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the pool personnel and the facilities. Responsible for promoting and ensuring staff adherence to the LHPOA Policies and Procedures including the Safety Program-OSHA and the Right to Know Laws. This position reports directly to the Community Manager.
 

Season of Hours

Pool Season is May-September.
·        Pool season begins 2-3 weeks before Memorial Day Weekend opening with pool preparation and filing. 
·        Daily season of regular hours ends on Labor Day weekend, however, if hot weather prevails, the pool. hours of operation can be extended. 
·        Daily Pool Hours are 10:00am-8:00pm. 
·        Members have option to book after pool hour events from hours of 8:00pm-10:00pm.


Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • At minimum, a High School Diploma or Equivalent. 
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Current PA Pesticide License.
  • Well organized with attention to detail.
  • Obtain a current Driver's License. 
  • Ability to work with rules, standards, and legislative matters.
  • Capable of passing background checks such as, but not limited to, FBI and Child Abuse.
  • Ability to become familiar with and enforce LHPOA Pool Rules and Procedures.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Dependability, neatness, accuracy, mental alertness, and responsiveness to direction. 
  • Advanced Lifesaving Certification or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). 
  • Good moral and ethical conduct 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     General – 
a.      Maintaining records and notifying the Community Manager of any accident which happens at the pool or clubhouse.
b.      Keeping a daily log of pool attendance as well as the selling and keeping records of guest ticket sales.
c.       Maintain inventory and sales records for the operation of the concession program whilst keeping a snack/food ledger.
d.      Keeping a petty cashbox for change needs, small expenditures, and to hold receipts.
e.      Administer Pool budget by submitting requests/bills to the Community Manager.
f.       Maintaining records of private pool parties.
g.      Maintaining timecards for each pool employee which are then turned into the LHPOA Office bi-weekly.
h.      Completing and submitting necessary State reports to the office.
i.       Posting pool rules; state and federal regulations and guidelines.
j.       Either Supervisor or Senior Lifeguard must be on duty and present during all pool open hours.
k.      Posting a weekly cleaning schedule for all pool personnel. Keep track of when cleaning procedures are to be executed.
 
2.     Technical –
a.      Enforce all pool rules as established by LHPOA BOD. 
b.      Ensure that all work on the pool area, pool, and equipment is completed before opening day.
c.      Order supplies for the season, make minor repairs, and submit Maintenance work orders and receipts to LHPOA Office.
d.      Responsible for pool and pool facilities during all hours pool is open.
e.      Maintain health and safety standards for the swimming pool. 
f.       Maintain pool equipment, supplies, and furnishings inventory.
g.      Oversee the daily cleaning and maintenance of the pool and all pool facilities.
h.      Oversee and monitor filtration/cleaning process of the pool.  This includes monitoring of appropriate chemical levels.
i.        Take water samples and send samples for required State agency analysis and approval.
 
3.      Personnel –
a.      Setting up a weekly work schedule for all pool personnel. Supervisor is to plan schedule for best utilization of pool personnel in order to:  provide adequate coverage to maximize safety; days off to rotate, proposed schedule for entire season to be posted within first week of opening day.
b.      Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all pool personnel in the execution of their assigned duties.
c.      Supervisor will work at least 5 days 40-hour week, the 6th and 7th day off
d.      In case of inclement weather (E.G. SEVERE THUNDER SHOWERS, LIGHTNING), the pool will be closed at the discretion of the supervisor or Community Manager.  NOTE* If weather improves as the day progresses, the pool will REOPEN until 8:00 P.M.
e.      Recruiting, Interviewing, and recommending lifeguards to Community Manager. 
f.       Complete performance appraisals at the end of the season of all pool personnel.
g.      Authority to dismiss lifeguard after clearing with Community Manager.
 
4.      Pool Related Activities –
a.      Organize after-hours Family Swims at the pool.
b.      Organize "FUN DAYS” (youngsters to age 12) involving use of pool area.
c.      Develop and implement aquatics programs for varied age groups.
d.      Provide swimming lessons for all ability levels throughout the season.
e.      Other related tasks as assigned by Community Manager.
