Description

We are hiring Park Aide employees to support Parks and Recreation starting April 6, 2026 and creating a eligibility register to fill future openings through September 30, 2026.

If you are hardworking, team oriented, reliable, and, customer service driven, this seasonal work is a great opportunity! You will be assigned to work on a crew performing a variety of duties which may include routine grounds keeping in campground and day-use areas, building maintenance and providing park specific interpretive information to park visitors.

Your strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to the public will make you successful in this role. Candidates should be comfortable working outside and working in a parks customer service environment.

Duties assigned will include:

  • Sweeping, raking, picking up trash from grounds and trails; cleaning and preparing facilities for shelter and campground reservations, pressure washing buildings, cleaning fire rings and camp sites, and being an ambassador of Snohomish County to the community;
  • Edges and trims lawns, walkways and trails; clear debris from walkways and parking lots; paints and builds fences, garbage containers and other structures; installs and maintains signs;
  • Weeds flower beds; trims trees and plants; and
  • Operating and maintaining a variety of light trucks and maintenance equipment.

Eligibility Register

This job posting is to hire several Seasonal - Park Aide employees and to create an eligibility register. Applicants placed on the eligibility register will expire on 9/30/2026.

This seasonal position is typically scheduled for 40 hours per week and you may be eligible for overtime. You will be assigned to work at a variety of parks ranging from large campground parks to small urban parks. You must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays or a modified schedule.

STATEMENT OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Cleans restrooms and replenishes towels, toilet tissue, soap and other supplies; cleans and disinfects toilets, sinks and urinals, empties wastebaskets
  • Picks up litter on part grounds
  • Collects and disposes of garbage
  • Weeds flower beds and planters
  • Trims and edges lawn areas
  • Rakes leaves and clears debris
  • May push mow
  • Sweeps and clears trails and walkways
  • Cleans fire rings and fire places
  • Washes trucks and other equipment
  • Installs and maintains signs
  • Paints fences, garbage containers and other structures
  • Open and close gates; enforcement of ejection (non-confrontational)
  • May collect and receipt for fees for wood/parking
  • Performs related duties as required
  • Work is routine and spot checked for compliance by full time ranger staff

Minimum Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of training and or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Must be 16 years of age. Prior park experience is preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

A valid State of Washington Drivers License is required for employment. May be subject to criminal background check.

Healthcare Premiums

  • Regular full-time employees: If you work 35 or more hours per week, you will pay these monthly premiums for medical insurance. The County pays the monthly premiums for vision, dental, and basic life insurance.
