West Sound Workforce is assisting a local municipality in seeking Seasonal Laborers to support the Public Works Department through the busy summer and early fall season. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on, active work and take pride in helping maintain safe, clean, and welcoming public spaces throughout the community.
Seasonal Laborers will assist with a variety of outdoor maintenance and landscaping tasks supporting city streets, sidewalks, stormwater systems, and public areas. Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-minded, comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and willing to jump in where needed as part of a team-oriented environment.
This role offers steady full-time hours, the opportunity to develop practical maintenance and equipment experience, and the chance to contribute directly to the upkeep and appearance of the local community.
Shift information:
- Monday – Friday 7 AM – 3:30 PM
- Occasional evenings and weekends as needed
What you will do:
- Perform general public works, parks, and grounds maintenance including mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, raking, and brush removal
- Clean and maintain roadside ditches, culverts, catch basins, sidewalks, storm systems, and public facilities
- Support upkeep of city properties and public spaces including restroom cleaning, landscaping, pressure washing, painting prep, and light building maintenance
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, landscaping equipment, and light-duty vehicles after training
- Assist with special projects and community events while maintaining dependable attendance and a strong safety-focused work ethic
What we are looking for:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid Washington State driver’s license required, along with at least two years of driving experience
- Ability to learn and follow safety procedures, technical instructions, and daily work assignments
- Comfortable working outdoors and wearing required protective gear including boots, gloves, hearing protection, and weather-appropriate equipment
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team while maintaining dependable attendance and a strong safety mindset
