Job Overview:

Work to ensure the cleanliness, functionality and visual excellence of the Summit House grounds.The Grounds associate will be required to maintain cleanliness of the area, ensure plants are receivingenough water, and trash is being disposed of properly so that residents are able to enjoy common living spaces.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance to required shifts, meetings, trainings and related employment engagements to support position responsibilities and duties.  Any alterations to required schedule must be reviewed and approved, in advance by your supervisor.
  • Maintain a calm and pleasant personality in all types of situations and create great customer service outcomes. Interacts with residents, guests and fellow team members with tact and courtesy.
  • Clean out stairwells in all buildings weekly — remove debris, sweep, and hose off as needed
  • Check and clean gutters in the 410 courtyard area weekly and clear debris as necessary
  • Remove trash and debris from the entire property including:

-           400 and 410 parking lots

-           400 and 410 courtyards

-           All surrounding grass and landscaped areas

  • Clean the fountain once a week: drain, scrub/clean the interior, and refill.
  • Weed plant beds in the 400 courtyard; assistance may also be requested in other areas
  • Water landscaping in areas without an irrigation system, including:

-           Round planters and flower beds in front of the 400 and 410 buildings 400 courtyard

-           Perform other general landscaping and outdoor maintenance tasks as needed

  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Grounds or landscaping experience
  • Self-starter with a good sense of cleanliness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team and communicate with fellow team members and Community Manager
  • Groundskeeping, landscaping, or janitorial experience is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with basic outdoor maintenance tools (e.g., hose, broom, leaf blower, basic hand tools)
  • Proactive with good time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Flexible, problem solver, quick learner, honest, reliable, and motivated with a pleasant, positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently on a daily basis without direct supervision

Compensation: $18.75 an hour
