Siena Farms Field Crew is the heartbeat of our daily operations. From the first seedling in the greenhouse to the last box loaded for a Boston restaurant delivery, our crew touches every part of the journey from soil to table. We are looking for hardworking, committed people who want to build real farming skills, work alongside a team that has each others backs, and help grow food that our community depends on.

What Youll Do

Crop Production

• Get hands on experience across mushroom, cut flower, and large scale vegetable production
• Plant crops, from greenhouse propagation to mechanical transplanting in the field
• Trellis, prune, fence, and thin crops

Harvest and Post Harvest

• Hand harvest our 150+ varieties of vegetables, fresh herbs, mushrooms, and flowers
• Wash, cure, pack, and transport produce so it arrives at its best

CSA, Wholesale, and Retail

• Pack and prepare CSA Farm Shares for our members
• Prepare orders for restaurant deliveries and our Boston retail stores

Youll thrive here if you have:

• A genuine interest in sustainable agriculture and local food systems
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
• Ability to work in inclement weather, including rain and temperature extremes
• Experience successfully working in a team environment
• Bonus points for: Previous hands on farming experience and/or Spanish language proficiency

Schedule

This role runs through the end of November, and there are two ways to join us:

• Part time: a minimum of 3 days a week, including Sundays. Monday through Wednesday are preferred for your other days.
• Full time: Sunday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.

Both schedules run from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one paid hour for lunch.

If you dig in and do great work, there is real opportunity here. Strong Field Crew members have opportunities to move into year-round, full time roles.

Compensation and Perks

Pay is $18 to $20 per hour, plus overtime opportunities. Paid time off is included! Perks include a weekly veggie farm share to take home, additional access to surplus produce, and employee discounts at Siena Farms retail locations and at our family restaurants, Oleana and Sofra.
