Job Summary

 

This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety functions including, but not limited to, the following: weighing and ticketing inbound/outbound trucks, preparing shipping documents, accepting payment, basic typing and word processing, answering calls, customer relations, assisting with dispatch, etc.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate deliveries with company drivers and external trucking partners to ensure timely, accurate shipments.
  • A Scale Operator is required for operating the weigh scales and maintaining the shipping, receiving, and related production records
  • Review for accuracy and process receiving of Raw Material
  • Prepare delivery tickets and related shipping documents
  • Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped against delivery tickets
  • Work closely with truck drivers to ensure delivery date/times are accurate, D.O.T. compliance with load weight and secure loads are met
  • Plan effective delivery routes and assign drivers for scheduled deliveries
  • Work closely with customer service to understand the product availability and logistic issues of specific projects
  • The position requires accurate record keeping of each truck entering/leaving the site as well as the weight of all materials entering/leaving the site
  • The position uses computers, spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong information storage and filing skills are required
  • Some work may include analyzing data and making various computations
  • Familiarity with scale operation and with shipping is an asset
  • The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player
  • They must be able to work without direct supervision
  • Shift work and overtime will be required
  • Answering incoming phone calls 
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in related function
  • Minimum one to three years of related experience
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Mathematical and communication skills
  • May require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb flights of stairs throughout the day

 

Compensation

 

  • $20 - $21 per hour
