What you will be doing:
Sealer Automation Manufacturing Engineer Coatings and Bondings
Position Summary
The Sealer Automation Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting, improving, and optimizing automated sealing operations within coatings and bonding manufacturing processes. This role requires strong expertise in Fanuc automation sealing equipment and hands-on experience with process development, equipment troubleshooting, and manufacturing support. The engineer will work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of automated sealing systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and improve automated sealer processes used in coatings and bonding applications.
  • Serve as the technical expert for Fanuc automation sealing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, and automation issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.
  • Lead process optimization efforts to improve quality, cycle time, uptime, and repeatability.
  • Partner with maintenance, production, and controls teams to resolve equipment and process concerns.
  • Develop and implement standard work, process parameters, and operating procedures.
  • Support equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and process qualification activities.
  • Analyze production data and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical support for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
  • Train operators and technicians on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist with new equipment launch, tooling changes, and process transfers as needed.
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic sealing, adhesive dispensing, bonding, coating, or similar automated manufacturing applications.
  • Strong experience with Fanuc robotic systems, including troubleshooting, process support, and programming modifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and process-related issues in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of process optimization techniques focused on quality, uptime, cycle time, and repeatability improvements.
  • Experience supporting equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and process qualification activities.
  • Ability to analyze production data and equipment performance to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, process controls, and safety standards.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
  • Experience with automated sealing, coatings, bonding, adhesive dispensing, or paint application systems.
  • Fanuc Robotics certification and/or experience with Fanuc ROBOGUIDE or offline programming tools.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and other quality tools.
  • Experience supporting new equipment launches, tooling changes, and process transfers.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, sensors, vision systems, or automation integration.
  • Experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience training operators and maintenance technicians on automated equipment.
  • Experience using data analysis tools to support manufacturing performance improvements.
