Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
Primary Purpose: Plan and provide therapy to students with speech, voice, and/or language disorders under the direct supervision of a supervisor directing the plan of therapy.
Qualification Guidelines Education: Bachelors Degree in Communicative Science and Disorders
Certifications: Texas license as Speech-Language Pathology Assistant granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
Experience: Fifty hours of clinical observation and assisting experience as required for licensure
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of techniques utilized in the rehabilitation of speech, language, and hearing disorders • Working knowledge of normal communication development • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required
