DescriptionJOB SUMMARYEffectively and efficiently manages the development sprints from planning to execution to review in an agile development environment. In this role, the candidate will lead Agile ceremonies, manage sprints, resolve blockers, and drive continuous improvement. Reporting to the RTE/Director of App Products, the candidate is expected to collaborate with product, design, and engineering leaders to deliver customer-focused enhancements and innovative digital reservation tools. Runs daily scrums, oversees and contributes on requirement documentation, and unblocks barriers to keep the team moving. Coaches and collaborates with cross-functional teams, Product Owners, other Scrum Masters to foster decision-making and continuous improvement. Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and guide the development of agile capabilities in the Global Technology organization and across Marriott’s portfolio of products. In this highly visible role, candidate will help evolve the Loyalty Product team, which leads the design, development, and innovation of loyalty member experiences across Marriott Digital. This is Marriott’s mobile app, used by millions of customers to find and book travel across our 8,000+ hotels and 34 brands, engage with the Marriott Bonvoy program, manage their loyalty accounts, and more. This specific position supports the Mobile Bonvoy App, supporting the Loyalty program team that falls under Marriott's Digital Portfolio.CANDIDATE PROFILE We’re seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a proven track record in large, matrixed enterprises who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You have deep expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to remove blockers while aligning teams on priorities and delivery goals.Education and Experience Required: • Undergraduate degree, equivalent experience, or certification. • 7+ years’ information technology experience including:o 4+ years of Agile Delivery experience using Scrum, Kanban and SAFe methodologieso 4+ years planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teamso 4+ years creating and delivering presentations and project plans.o 2+ years working with tools such as Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence), Clarity and/or Cloud-based platforms (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud)Preferred: • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP) • SAFe certified – SAFe Agilist or SAFe Scrum Master • Servant leadership experience as Scrum Master on an Agile Release Train • Familiarity with product/project development experience on an Agile Teams in a technology-focused organization • Ability to align change management strategies with product development/deployments • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques • Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology • Thrives in a highly collaborative, matrixed, complex, fast paced environment CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Leading Organizational Delivery • Supports one or more software delivery team using Scrum or Kanban methodologies • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective • Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization • Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role • Acts as servant leader of the Agile Team and directs the initiative delivery team • Partner with Product Managers to maintain plans and communicate progress of the team.
